InstaJet

An exploration into how the Global 7500 could be changed to cater to the new generation of celebrities, and how the latest social media trends/technology could be integrated to improve flight experience and content creation.

Project Overview

The world has begun to revolve more and more around social media

How can the latest social media trends/technology be integrated to improve their flight experience and enable them to create content in the air?

How can the Global7500 be designed to cater to a new generation of celebrities?

The goal of this project is to envision a cabin focused on comfort, convenience, and content creation

Floor Plan

RHS Conf grouping + LHS Club + Floor Lounge │RHS Bed + LHS Credenza + RHS Double Closet + LHS Vanity

Passengers: 7

Sleeps: 7 (including 1 crew)

Zone 1 - Conference Room

This cabin is designed with capturable moments in mind. The colour palette is neutrals (ash veneer an grey carpet) with pops of colour (green, orange, and pink) to keep intrigue in photos and videos. The brass accents are to emphasize the luxury experience that private jets offer.

Zone 2 - Creative Cove

The creative cove is inspired by the conversation pits that were popular in the 1950s through the 1970s. The seating is low to the ground to create a cozy atmosphere. Guests would be able to form meaningful connections and conversations in a space they feel relaxed in. This area also caters to content creation with storage for lighting and film equipment, a retractable monitor, and a mirrored divider; perfect for filming/ taking selfies in the compact area of a plane.

Zone 3 + 4 - Stateroom + Cloud Closet

The third zone of the plane is for relaxation and acts as a home in the sky. In typical cabins, the stateroom is the fourth zone of the plane, with the third being more seating or an entertainment area. In my design, I expanded the stateroom into two zones in order to create an extra long wardrobe and vanity. While designing, I kept in mind extra room needed for potential hair stylists and makeup artists that an influencer or celebrity may have on board to work around the vanity. I modified the existing bombardier table design to include and fold up mirror with a ring light for hair and makeup. Since I extended the wardrobe, I had to accommodate for the extra set of doors. I did this by designing the doors to fold up and slide into the wardrobe when open, to maximize the open space in a cramped area. The doors are also mirrored to give the illusion of more space as well as providing more photo opportunities.

Zone 5 - Sky Spa

When designing the aft lavatory, I wanted to create a spa-like zone of luxury and relaxation. I continued the green and neutral palette with the shower tiles and marble sink.
